“what does it mean to you?” (2016) is a sound installation created as part of “Lions, Tigers And…“, a long-term multimedia exhibition at Pasadena City Hall, curated by FREEWAVES. combining cinematic leitmotifs of lions in pop culture with recorded interviews of dr. kelema moses (architectural historian) and Occidental College students, “what does it mean to you” was a montage of visitors immersing themselves in city hall’s architectural history, while actively questioning it’s aesthetic and symbolic importance.
